Kolek, Anthony Francis (Tony) Kolek, age 80, died peacefully at home in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday, November 27, 2017. Born September 20, 1937, in Pittsburgh to Anthony Kolek and Anna Zolnowski-Kolek, Anthony attended Central Catholic High School, class of 1955, and the St. Fidelis Seminary before graduating from Carnegie Technical Institute, now Carnegie Mellon University, as a Metallurgical Engineer. He served in the US Marine Corp as a sharpshooter and an ROTC officer candidate. After working in the steel industry for many years, Anthony founded A and A Painting, a painting contractor business. In retirement, he was a part-time resident of Port Richey, Florida. Tony will be especially remembered by his family and friends for his polite and quiet nature as well as for his interests in the stock market, automobiles, and his knowledge and enjoyment of wine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice E. (Rexer); brother and sister-in-law Robert L. and Gloria Kolek; his three children, Anthony F. Kolek, Jr. of Robinson Township, Alice J. "Jane" and Dewitt M. Peart of Austin, Texas, and Bruce C. and Judi Able-Kolek of Clearwater, Florida; his grandchildren, Michael A. Peart, Andrew C. Peart, Mallory J. Liptak, Anthony F. Kolek III, and Gregory A. Kolek; his step granddaughter Cierra N. Chin; and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Bruce C. Kolek, Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, at Leo J. Henney Funeral Home, 323 Second Avenue, in Carnegie. www.leohenneyfuneralhome.com.  Hours: 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 5718 Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Shaler Township, 700 Soose Road, Pittsburgh 15219. Memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, 4720 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh 15213 or the Good Samaritan Hospice Organization, Development Office Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot PA 16023.
